Here is my trip from Hell's!! Agenda-
Friday:
* I didn't pack the formula and had to drive into town for the closes store.
* It POURED Friday afternoon and when I returned from town, half of our tent was wet along with the blankets and pillows
* Our air mattress wouldn't inflate thanks to the huge hole in it.
* Johnny woke up every 1 1/2 hours all night long
Saturday:
This is the day that everyone walks down to the famous watering hole. It reminds me a lot of the Grand Canyon on a smaller scale. Everyone talks about how great and wonderful it is, you spend a while traveling to it and then you stair at a hole and leave. I've never been impressed with this hole so the idea of going somewhere better was intriguing. Here's the problem Ryan Ricedorff declared it ok for little children. This is from a man who likes to spend his spare time doing triathlons. The mile hike was definitely not for small children or a woman pregnant with twins. When we finally arrived to the watering hole and I jumped in to grab Kimball I ripped my whole toenail off and had to walk out in flip-flops with 4 small children (thanks debi for your flip-flops)
Sunday:
Nothing to post here because I got the hell out of Christopher creek when we got back from the watering hole.
The only Highlight from that weekend was when Mark's sister stopped by to visit us on her way to St. John's and my kids got to play with their cousins.(I also got to hang out with my sister in law who we don't see a lot)
Between the wet table cloths, soggy chairs, wet pillow, lost toe nail, and stairing at nothing but a fire pit all day I'm pretty sure this will be the last posting of Christopher creek on this families blog.
Thank you Dale for sharing your dry blankets, for Matt offering his mattress to us and Jenny for the galoshes that Ella never took off.
That makes me sad that you have no highlights from the trip. I love how happy your kids look in the pictures. Just think of the memories that are created when they get to play with their cousins and have fun. I hope by next summer your womanly memory kicks in (the one that gets us to keep having kids) and you come back. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteDITTO!!! I'm not a fan of camping out either...one time we "crashed" the Goodman Chistopher Creek Camp out (now they always sneak out in the dark of night) we had a motor home...that is my way to camp...we're neighbors now...come see us in the Clay Springs area...we think we saw your place in SnowFlake...were you at the parade? We love small town parades and the 10K!!! Glad you survived, YOUR KIDS ARE DARLING!!!!!!!!
